What do your ducts look like?
What can you do? There are proven techniques that can
drastically decrease dust and improve your indoor air quality.
First, Clean the Ducts
The first step is to remove the build up from your ductwork
by having it cleaned. Duct cleaning can literally remove pounds of unwanted dust
and debris that occupy a homeowner's ductwork. Our process uses a full color
video inspection system that ensures we remove all of the contaminants from your
duct system:
-
We take each section of ductwork and send a custom sized
brush through it.
-
The brush scrubs the walls of the ductwork and simultaneously
suctions the debris out with a high-powered HEPA vacuum unit.
-
Our equipment then gives you detailed internal pictures of your
duct work.
An 800 - 1200
square foot home normally takes about 4 - 5 hours to completely clean. A 1200 -
2000 square foot home takes about 6 - 8 hours.
The best part is that this process lasts. On average,
professional duct cleaning should not have to be done again for ten or more
years. Homes with many pets, special hobbies (like woodworking) or high traffic
may need to be done more frequently; but the average homeowner can rely on it
lasting ten years.
Add Quality Air Cleaning
We suggest that a good
quality air cleaner be added to the system. This helps prevent dust from getting
circulated throughout the house and settling back in the ductwork. There are
even ultraviolet air cleansing systems that kill virus and bacteria.
Your choice of solution
depends on how much improvement you are looking for and what budget you have to
work with.
You Can Count on Us
M&T Heating & Cooling will send only properly
trained heating & cooling technicians to do your duct cleaning. We are
located right here in Western New York.
We've seen situations where companies send people
to do duct cleaning who are not familiar with heating or cooling systems.
Your ductwork is directly tied to your furnace and air
conditioning system; if someone not familiar with heating or cooling operation
accidentally pushes dust into the furnace or punctures the evaporator coil on
your air conditioner, you may be faced with serious repair costs.
Put your "dirty duct" fears to rest.

Do you ever wonder why you have to dust so often? Have you
ever smelled an awful odor when your furnace first kicks on? Do you experience a
lack of energy when you spend a lot of time indoors? If you've said YES to any
of the above, you could be a prime candidate for duct cleaning and sanitizing.
Your duct system is one of the most neglected areas of your
home. Ductwork is nearly impossible to access and you can only clean about an
arms length into it. Years of built up, baked on dust and debris find their way
into your duct system and can cause poor indoor air quality. In worse case
scenarios, a home or a building can have SBS or Sick Building Syndrome. Sick
Building Syndrome can cause people to feel sick while they occupy a building or
home that has poor indoor air quality. Even new homes have drywall dust, wood
shavings or worse.
Mold spores, dust mites, pet hair and dander can end up in
your ductwork and cause people with allergies to suffer. Even if you don't have
allergies, you still end up fighting to keep your home and furnishings clean.
Take the TV screen test. Can you write your name in the dust stuck to your TV
screen right now?
Each time your furnace or air conditioner turns on, it's like
turning on your vacuum cleaner in reverse, and blowing dust all over the house.
Your furnace has a powerful blower motor that turns on when you need central air
conditioning or heat. Unfortunately, the fast moving air picks up dust and
debris and spews it into your home.
